Plugin: NextGEN Custom Fields (for NextGEN Gallery)

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery-custom-fields/faq/

Displaying Fields

  • For image custom fields, use the following tag: <?php echo $image->ngg_custom_fields["Your Field Name Here"]; ?>
  • For gallery custom fields, use the following tag: <?php echo nggcf_get_gallery_field($gallery->ID, "My Gallery Field Name Here"); ?>

==============================

Edit PHP file: (for larger text area size…)

/wp-content/plugins/ngg-custom-columns/ngg-custom-fields.php

==============================

Important note: you need have at least 1 image custom field linked to the gallery. Without an image custom field, the gallery custom field will simpley not show. Basically it is because NextGEN natively does not provide any where for this plugin to “hook” into to edit the gallery, so it goes in through the image hook.

==============================

Problem: sometimes the custom gallery fields disappear after you Save Changes in Manage Gallery window. To make them reappear, go back to NGG Custom Fields/Gallery Custom Fields, and try to deactivate and re-activate the fields for that particular gallery via Edit Linked Galleries. Make sure that you don’t have inappropriate HTML tags entered in the text areas or text inputs of the fields.

==============================

To display Gallery’s description: add this to the gallery.php.

<?php echo $gallery->description ?>

    Hi, I’m using this plugin and I was wondering how to display the field name before the text of the field. i.e.:

    Name of gallery: Nice Gallery
    Place: Somewhere
    Date: Sometime

    This is actually what it display:
    Nice Gallery
    Somewhere
    Sometime

    Thanks for any help!
